How to get involved in National Recovery Month

We’re into National Recovery Month, a time to provide support and awareness to the community and aim to increase public awareness surrounding mental health and addiction recovery. As a nonprofit, you know how important it is to be involved in the community. National Recovery Month is a perfect opportunity to do just that. Here are ways your nonprofit can get involved:

Partner with Other Schools, Companies and Organizations

Partnering with other schools and companies is a great way to spread the word about this important topic. By partnering with another organization, you can share your resources and work together to make a difference.

Use Social Media to Raise Awareness About the Impact of Addiction on Families

You can help your nonprofit raise awareness about the impact of addiction on families and communities by sharing stories of those impacted on your social media. By highlighting the various ways in which addiction affects people and their families, you will provide a strong reminder that there are many ways to be supportive and helpful to those who are struggling with chemical dependency. Creating or sharing content on your website about the importance of mental health, addiction treatment, and recovery is an effective way to spread awareness and resources to those who need them.

Host a fundraiser for National Recovery Month

Hosting a fundraiser is a great way to raise funds and spread awareness. Here are a few ideas for your organization to get involved-

Hold a benefit concert: Hosting live music is always fun (except when it’s not) and can be used as an engaging way to increase awareness about your cause. Consider inviting local bands from the area to play at one of their shows during National Recovery Month; this will help them gain exposure too!

Organize a bake sale: Bake sales are great for nonprofits with limited budgets because they’re relatively inexpensive ways to get people involved and raise funds for your organization. It’s easy enough that anyone can do it – just ask some friends who like making baked goods if they’d like to help out by donating something tasty-sounding (ice cream cakes are always good).

As you can see, there are plenty of ways for your nonprofit to get involved in National Recovery Month. How will your organization get involved?

We’d love to hear from you!
