Wellness Wednesday: Self-Care Isn’t Selfish
Somewhere along the way, many of us were taught to put everyone else first — that our needs could wait, that rest had to be earned, and that saying “no” made us difficult. But here’s the truth: taking care of yourself is not selfish. It’s necessary.
This week, schedule one thing that’s just for you. It doesn’t have to be extravagant — it just has to be yours. Maybe it’s a quiet walk, a solo lunch, a long bath, or simply turning down something that drains you. When you honor your own well-being, you’re not pulling away from others — you’re showing up as someone who is whole, present, and grounded.
Bonus Challenge: Don’t leave it as an idea. Put it in your calendar like any other important appointment — and protect it. Make self-care a non-negotiable, not a last resort. Your peace deserves priority, not permission.
You are not selfish for caring for yourself. You are wise. You are worthy. And you are allowed to take up space — with rest, with boundaries, and with grace.
