09 Dec Keepers of the Flame Scholarship December 2022: Eunide Pierre
Meet Eunide Pierre, December 2022’s Keepers of the Flame Scholarship Recipient
A little about myself: I’m a single mama with three beautiful children and a background in Midwifery and Doula birth work to support mothers and their families. I also have a bachelor’s degree in social works and recently became certified as a yoga instructor.
‘U Need Yoga LLC’ was born in November of 2021 and registered in Tampa, Florida.
I provide yoga classes for all ages from beginners, intermediate, advanced, and other services. I’ve been practicing yoga as my personal practice since an injury for 16 years now. I was blessed with the gift of learning how to use my breath and poses to heal my body from a close friend who’s an injury yoga instructor. I’m forever grateful for that injury.
I’ve always been fortunate to have had support from marvelous women that have paved the way and ushered me to expand my horizons and evolve. Therefore, giving back to other women and their family is my pleasure and I’m always honored to be chosen as part of their personal journey to find balance and better a lifestyle. I would love to utilize this scholarship for additional products for the studio such as (mats, blocks, butters, belts, weights, essential oils etc. In addition, I would love to provide at least two scholarships for single mothers that needs financial support for classes or workshops.
I was inspired during Covid-19 during my quest in finding an escape with all that was going on in the world and the way we were affected. Yoga and meditation are a magical approach from the perspective of mind, body and spirit. I know firsthand the results, so it made perfect sense to me to further my education to be in a better position to assist my community. My goal is to share my expertise with everyone I cross paths with who’s open to the flexibility of yoga and wants to find balance in their personal practice of well-being.
This scholarship is in honor of my older sister Marlene Dominique who adopted me as a young girl after both of my parents died in Haiti, and my beloved grandmother my guiding angel who I’m constantly reminded of by the way she molded me for my life’s work (Woman supporting woman).
I’m a strong believer of if you’re doing something with your heart, authenticity, passion, compassion and honesty you are in it to win! I’m humbled by this thing called life and my life’s purpose journey to serve. I’m excited for this opportunity and once again, thank you for keeping the flame.
